My name is Jenny Ignaszewski. I live in Phoenix, AZ. I spend as much time as I can painting and working on new creative ventures.

I originated in Florida, growing up primarily in Tallahassee (north Florida). I graduated Leon High School, one of the coolest old schools in FL.  I attended Flagler College in St. Augustine and studied graphic design and advertising. I worked at various advertising agencies and newspapers in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida before my path led westward. Landing as a page designer and editor at the Phoenix Gazette and Arizona Republic.I was lucky to work some very creative and industrious people. Then, in 2000 I retired. Well, I quit, but I like to think of it as retiring that portion of my career.

Since then, I’ve been honing my craft as a working artist. I began painting portraits about 7 years ago, and that has become a big part of what I do as an artist. However, it’s not all I do. I also create landscapes, urban landscapes, social commentary, funky people, animals, public art and much more. I have to mix it up for my own sanity!

I have a passion for the outdoors - backpacking, camping and hiking. I love to plan hikes and get out there with my family, friends, dogs and once in a while by myself. One of my favorite places to hike is the Grand Canyon. I try to go there at least once a year. The canyon is a place that has changed my life. I’m very lucky I have the ability to hike in that world of beauty and ruggedness. Some people head to San Diego or Mexico, I prefer the woods and canyons of the west.

My other passion is the downtown YMCA. I’ve served on the board for 3 years and love the people I get to work with at this amazing downtown community center.

I hope you enjoy my website. Please let me know what you think.
